What is your definition of empathy?

"My definition of Empathy is Trying to feel the same emotions that another person is going through. Putting myself in someone else shoes and try to understand what they are feeling"(Judy Miguel).

What was one personal experience/story that involves empathy within your medical profession that you still carry with you?


"One of our residents passed away not to long ago, and I know it was hard for his wife Vally because she's been with him for so long and it's hard to be okay without the person you love and been with for numerous years. Death happens so often at my job because I work with elderly people and their dyeing all the time. It never gets easy and I understand losing someone is hard. So I try my best to prove a helping hand to the family of the deceased"(Judy Miguel).

What is your definition of empathy?

" Understanding and sharing the feelings that other person is feeling"(Amanda Ramgren).

What was one personal experience/story that involves empathy within your medical profession that you still carry with you?

" When a new residents comes into the facility it take a lot for them to get used to the new people who will be providing care for them. Its hard for them to get used to it so it's my job to make them feel comfortable and understand that they went from being home with their families to a new place that they are unfamiliar with"(Amanda Ramgren).

What is your definition of empathy?

"Understanding and fully comprehending another feelings"( Kristie K). 

What was one personal experience/ story that involves empathy within your medical profession that you still carry with you? 

"Our residents usually have dementia which means they usually have memory disorders or personality changes, So I try my best to care for them like I would like to be cared for. This includes conversations in which I would tell them where they are and who we are followed by what we are here to do. Redirecting them so they feel comfortable"(Kristie K).
